Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which doctor to see?

All our orthopaedic providers see workers’ compensation patients. Choose one who specializes in your injury or condition, or just call us. We’ll help you find the right provider.

What’s the patient’s role when they’re being treated for a work-related injury?

Your role is the most important! First and foremost, follow the advice and care plan provided by your healthcare team, at work and at home.

Studies show the sooner you return to work, the quicker your overall recovery, so we’ll let you return to work (sometimes with restrictions) as soon as possible.

We’ll keep your insurance adjustor apprised of your medical and return-to-work status so they can determine your workers ‘ compensation benefits.

What’s my doctor’s role when treating my workers’ compensation injury?

Your provider’s role is to appropriately treat your injury, determine your physical capabilities and restrictions and document your progress.

Your provider will determine your restrictions at each appointment and give you two copies of your written restrictions – one for your records and one for your employer. These restrictions apply when you’re at work AND at home.

What’s my employer’s role when I have a workers’ compensation injury?

Your employer’s role is to accommodate the restrictions determined by your provider. If they can’t, they may keep you off work.
