James P. Sutherland, Jr., M.D.

After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Sutherland completed medical school at University of Louisville. He completed his internship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. and his orthopedic residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Sutherland is one of the founding surgeons of Orthopaedic Associates of Wausau, helping to start the practice in 2001. Prior to coming to Wausau, he served in the United States Air Force.

Dr. Sutherland is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, Wisconsin Medical Society, Marathon County Medical Society, and the Catholic Medical Society.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Sutherland enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with family and supporting the arts such as the Wausau Conservatory and The Grand Theater.
